A Historic City In Malaysia..

Hey guys! I’m back as promised😉After reading my first ever blog, are you guys excited about what I’m going to share in this second blog? 👀When you read the title, I guess most of you will think about…. Bingo! I will talk about Malacca, a city that has been a top-pick holiday getaway due to its many historic attractions.

Malacca Overview

Malacca (Melaka in Malay), or famously known as the “Historical City of Malaysia” was declared as a UNESCO world heritage site in 2008. It is the third smallest state in Malaysia after Perlis and Penang. Although relatively small in size, Malacca is a truly fascinating place, with a long history and a rich culture.

Malaysia’s historic city Malacca has witnessed the height of a Malay empire and later occupation by the Portuguese, Dutch and English. She is also the birthplace of the Malaccan Baba Nonya culture, and Malaysian Eurasian culture, stemming from Portuguese communities who settled and intermarried locally.

How to get there?

The usual options are available to get around Malacca Town. Choose from taxis, buses and trishaws to move around the city. For those places to visit located at the outskirts of the city, use a cab or charter your own car to get there.

The cheapest way to reach Malacca is by coach. There are quite some bus operators that have daily buses driving between Malacca and many other locations within Peninsular Malaysia. From the main bus terminal TBS in Kuala Lumpur many buses a day leave towards Malacca. The trip from Kuala Lumpur to Malacca by bus will take around 2.5 hours. Tickets from Kuala Lumpur to Malacca only cost around RM14.40 (one way).

5 Places to Visit in Malacca

1.Dutch Square Malacca is the most picturesque along Jalan Kota. It’s also a colourful trishaw pickup point, it is distinguished by a group of bright, terracotta-red colonial Dutch buildings, built between 1660 and 1700. One of the oldest surviving parts of Malacca, Dutch Square’s most prominent building is the Stadthuys. It was completed in 1660 and is said to be the oldest-existing Dutch building in the East.

Why You Should Visit Malacca…

As for me, Malacca was one of the most surprising places that I’ve visited with its numerous historic museums and cultural sites mentioned above. It feels like I was taken back to the past and I can feel the strong sense of history in Malacca. It grabbed my attention and is now my favourite Malaysian destination . Besides that, another thing that makes me love Malacca is it has diverse shops and eateries. At the weekends, the road transforms into a huge street market in the evenings, with plentiful street food, snacks, and drinks to tempt you.

In addition, Malacca will certainly please all art enthusiasts too. Scenes of local life from the past can be found along the city’s walls, and there are old product advertisements painted on pillars and walls. Take a walk alongside the river and you’ll find even more eye-catching paintings as well as a spot where old cars have been cut in half and turned into an artistic display. Art can be seen almost everywhere in the main heart of town

Overall

Home of the well-known Nyonya cuisine, Malacca is a popular destination for tourists who want to catch a glimpse of Malaysia’s unique heritage. Visiting Malacca is to engage in the flow of rediscovering her colorful past in historical monuments and ruins, and to experience the constant creation and unfolding of the new. I strongly recommend you to visit this historic city, at least once in a lifetime. 🤩

This is the center of the new wings. Its design and decoration varies according to the festival. Besides festivals, many events and performances have been held here as well during normal days.

Stepping in Japan village, you can feel a strong Japanese atmosphere with all those beautiful decorations and famous Japanese restaurants such as best ramen at Hanamaru Yoshinoya, steamboat Arashi Shabu Shabu, KOMUGI Bakery & MIYAKO Grill, Sushi King, Kinsahi and so on. It also has shops that sell multi merchandise with super reasonable price like DAISO and MINISO.

AEON Tebrau also has a number of eateries that serve Local delicacies, Chinese cuisine, fast food, Western food, desserts and beverages, and many more. It is one of the reason that made me like to visit the mall because it considers the preferences of customers. Plus, I can just taste different types of food in the same place. Yummy~~

PALO is a game zone suitable for children, teenagers and adults. You sure don’t want to leave this place because you would want to try out those interesting games like I did! 🙂

Some Friendly Facilities and Services in the AEON Tebrau

Taa-Daa! This Choo Choo train is available in AEON Tebrau and this is what makes the mall special. You can get your ticket from the attendant at the train station for a full round trip at 2nd floor of the new wing. The fee charges RM 5 per child only.

The cinema here is TGV Cinema. Superb sound system, quality of screen, and comfortable chairs make your spend worth. It has Imax 3D as well. TGV Cinema also added new ticket machines so you don’t need to stuck in the long queue at the counters. You can purchase the movie ticket by yourself at these machines. It is convenient and easy to use.

Next, the mall has these information boards on every floor. You can refer to them if you cannot find the shop that you are looking for or you can also enquire at the customer service located at the ground floor.

There is also a small space outside each toilet on every floor which has massage chairs or mini playground. This is also what I like about AEON Tebrau because it provides such facilities to entertain customers.

Last but not least, there are many benches in AEON Tebrau for people to take a rest. So do not worry if you feel tired after few hours of window shopping. 😉 Of course, the mall also has facilities like surau, wheelchair loan, car park, infant facilities and so on.
